Ignite the Fire 2009

Just a quick report..."Ignite the Fire 2009" was awesome. Bro. Armondo Ganzalez and Bro. Daniel Lankford did a great job bringing us Fire Minutes of Fire. Also, Bro. Matt Alldritt from Exeter did a great job singing. Thanks Matt! And as always, Rev. Stephen Barker preached a timely and dynamic message about not letting the "giant" of negativity get ahold of us. Thank you Bro. Barker!

Focus on Youth Ministry

On Friday night of Youth Convention 2009, the "Focus on Youth Ministry" portion of the service was forgone due to the awesome move of God that took place in the service. However, I wanted to take a little space here to say that the focus youth ministry for that night was supposed to be Rev. Jose Diaz of Tulare. Good job Bro. Diaz.

YC 09 First Night (Wed PM)

What a powerful first night of Youth Convention 2009 (YC 09)! The HWY 99 facility of CLC is beautiful. But more importantly, the presence of God was beautiful. It was also a well attended first night of convention. There was over 2500 in attendance.

The service sarted with Bro. Laird Sillimon and the CLC Praise Singers leading worship.

Bro. Ken Gurley challenged the youth, and everyone in attendance, during the preaching.

It truly was a great night, full of powerful praise and worship, anointed preaching, and the presence of God.

Youth Convention 09

Youth Convention 2009 is just around the corner. The Youth Department is looking forward to a great convention. There are many new challenges this year, but new challenges mean new opportunites!

Bro. Ken Gurley will be the keynote speaker with Bro. Nathan Keating ministering during the morning services. YC 09 will be held at CLC's new church facility on Hwy 99.

The theme this year is "Upside Down." Make plans to attend this exciting event, and let's turn our world "Upside Down."

Back 2 School Blastoff

The Back to School Blast was just that: a blast! The service was great and Rev. Nik Schexnayder preached a powerful and timely message, "The Difference Between Wells and Cisterns." There was a wonderful move of God during the service culminating with sincere prayer and devotion during the altar call.

The party after service was also a blast! There was free pizza and sodas, volleyball, basketball, and nearly life-sized Wii games.

Thank you to Truth Tabernacle of Bakersfield, Pastor Jon Mullings, and Youth Pastor Chris Salyards for all that you did to make this event a success. Also, thank you to all the pastors and churches that were able to attend.

Summer Round-Up

Praise the Lord everyone! It has been a while since my last post. I apologize. Life has been rather busy.

I wanted to give a report on our recent Sections 1 & 2 Jr. Youth Camp. It was fantastic! There were about 15 that received the Holy Ghost for the first time. That is tremendous. However, the last night, after service had ended, about 5-6 young people stayed in the chapel praying. The power of God began to fall. Before long, there were over 100 people in the chapel, and God was doing marvelous things. This prayer meeting lasted for about two and a half hours!

It was inspiring to see these young people being anointed by God.

Tribute to Rev. James McPhaill

Rev. James McPhaill is undoubtedly a man of understanding, who has drawn out the wisdom that God has given him. I want to take this opportunity to thank Pastor McPhaill for his years of service to Section 2. Pastor McPhaill has been a godly source of leadership regarding Sectional Youth and Jr. Youth Camp issues. He has always been ready and willing to listen and give advice. Though he is no longer our presbyter, I will still look to him as a pillar of godliness. Thank you, Pastor McPhaill, for all the years of dedication.

There is something special about a cool river on a hot day. I love to sit beside the water and watch it flow, knowing that the water is what makes life possible. Without water, there can be no life.

Praise the Lord! I want to thank each one that has stopped by to see what is going on. There are several things that I will be attempting to do in this forum: promoting events, reporting on those events, posting devotionals, and just adding cool stuff when I can. I hope that everyone will continue to stop by and leave comments.

I have included a picture of Bro. Schexnayder who will be preaching the SFC Rally on April 9th. He is the Sectional Youth Director of Section 7 (formerly Section 11). Bro. Schexnayder pastors in Woodland, CA.

Welcome to the Section 2 Youth blog. As many of you know, the "renumbering" of the sections in the Western District has changed Section 6 into Section 2. Here is the spot to find out what is going on with the youth department.

Our next event will be the Sheaves for Christ Rally in Exeter. I am looking forward to hearing Bro. Schexnayder preach and God moving in the lives of young people. There will be a youth party following the service. Pizza and drinks will be served.
